President Bola Tinubu has directed that the school feeding programme be transferred from the Humanitarian Ministry to the Education Ministry following its relaunch on Thursday. The Minister of Education, Prof Tahir Mamman, made this announcement during a one-day workshop focused on incremental improvements in ministerial objectives for the years 2023 to 2027.

Tinubu emphasized that the relaunch aims to tackle the challenges faced by out-of-school children and to address the learning crisis. Mamman, discussing the workshop, outlined its goal of formulating policies to tackle these issues and holding various organizations accountable for addressing the problem of out-of-school children.

It's worth noting that the school feeding programme was halted during the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
