Governor Abiodun Launches 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Emblem and Pledges Support for Fallen Heroes' Families

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State recently launched the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance emblem, demonstrating his administration's dedication to the welfare of both serving and retired military personnel.

Yesterday, Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State launched the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance emblem, affirming his administration's commitment to prioritizing the welfare of serving and retired personnel. The emblem was launched at the Governor’s Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, where the governor also made a donation of N10 million to the legionaries. Governor Abiodun urged Nigerians to support and care for the families left behind by fallen heroes and promised to address the accommodation needs of the Legion, ensuring a suitable edifice is provided for them.

 

During the launch, Governor Abiodun emphasized the importance of remembering the families of fallen heroes, acknowledging their enduring resilience and unwavering support for their loved ones. He stressed the need to extend support and care to these families, ensuring they are not forgotten and are provided with necessary assistance and opportunities to lead fulfilling lives. The governor also expressed his commitment to prioritizing the welfare and wellbeing of serving and retired personnel, emphasizing the need to ensure a seamless transition to civilian life for them.

 

Governor Abiodun expressed gratitude to the Nigerian Armed Forces for their dedication and selflessness in safeguarding the nation's peace and unity. He acknowledged their efforts in maintaining stability and ensuring the safety of citizens. Additionally, he reiterated his administration's commitment to collaborating with the armed forces to address various security challenges in the state, pledging to provide the necessary support and resources for the armed forces to carry out their duties effectively and efficiently.

 

Master Warrant Officer Orukotan Olumuyiwa (rtd), the state Chairman of the Nigeria Legion, commended the state government's efforts to reposition the economy and called for concerted efforts to alleviate the hardships faced by widows and orphans of fallen heroes. He highlighted the increase in the number of widows and orphans in need of care and support due to the security challenges that have placed pressure on the armed forces, whose personnel have been consistently deployed to tackle security issues in the country.
