Mr. Obiora Ifoh, the National Publicity Secretary of the party, revealed this development in a statement issued in Abuja. He disclosed that the party in Edo had initiated a capacity building program for its wards and local government executives, aimed at fortifying and repositioning the party for success.

During the training, the National Chairman of the party, Mr. Julius Abure, expressed confidence in the Labour Party's ability to rescue the nation and Edo State from poor governance. He emphasized the significance of the training program, stating that it was designed to equip local government and ward executives with the necessary skills and knowledge for the Edo 2024 governorship election. Abure stressed the pivotal role of these officials in the electoral process, highlighting the party's belief that elections are won and lost at the grassroots level.

Furthermore, Abure underscored the party's commitment to addressing the socio-economic challenges facing the state and the nation, citing infrastructure decay, poverty, hunger, and unemployment as pressing issues. He emphasized the Labour Party's ideology as a catalyst for change and its vision to reposition the country for greatness. Abure also outlined the party's plan to extend the training to other senatorial districts, demonstrating the party's focused approach to securing victory in the upcoming election.
