Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu recently commended the state for achieving a significant milestone in security by recording zero bank robberies over the past four years, the longest period in the last two decades. He made this statement at the 17th Town Hall Meeting on security organized by the Lagos State Security Trust Fund at the Eko Hotels Suites, Victoria Island. Sanwo-Olu attributed this achievement to the continuous review of the state's security architecture and surveillance measures.

During the meeting, the governor highlighted the progress made in enhancing security and discussed strategies to further fortify safety in Lagos State. He praised the collaborative efforts of the police and sister agencies in combating crimes, emphasizing that the state had established a stable security landscape compared to other parts of the country. Sanwo-Olu also mentioned that the state government had consistently funded security agencies' operations across communities, providing operational vehicles and equipment to enhance the capacity of security operatives.

He reiterated the administration's commitment to pursuing policies and actions that would foster the well-being of all Lagosians and build a secure and inclusive community. Sanwo-Olu also announced plans to raise the fleet of patrol vehicles for security agencies by 300 units in 2024, in collaboration with local government authorities.
