PRESIDENT TINUBU'S ADDRESS AT CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF ANNUAL GENERAL CONFERENCE 2023: ENSURING DISCIPLINE AND SECURITY

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's recent address at the Chief of Army Staff Annual General Conference 2023 in Maiduguri highlighted crucial issues regarding military conduct and security in Nigeria.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, speaking at the Chief of Army Staff Annual General Conference 2023 in Maiduguri, emphasized the need for the Nigerian Army to refrain from retaliatory assaults on the police or civilian populations in response to provocations. He warned military leaders to demonstrate exemplary conduct in uniform and expressed his disapproval of the recent assault on the Adamawa Police Command headquarters by soldiers.

Tinubu stressed that venting anger against the police is unacceptable and urged the military to find appropriate channels to address grievances. He also assured that the accidental bombing of civilians, such as the recent incident in Tudun Biri, Kaduna state, would not happen again in Nigeria. He expressed deep sorrow for the loss of innocent lives and called for a thorough investigation into the incident to prevent similar occurrences in the future.

Furthermore, President Tinubu charged the conference participants to focus their discussions on intelligence, inclusiveness, and the capacity to combat security challenges effectively. He emphasized the importance of protecting Nigerians and addressing emerging threats confronting the nation.
