In Ondo State, police detectives have arrested a 28-year-old ex-convict and internet fraudster, Fatai Bakare, for the alleged murder of his father's 42-year-old tenant, Onyimi Grace, reportedly for ritual purposes. According to a statement by the police spokesperson, Funmi Odunlami, in Akure, the state capital, the victim's body was found concealed in a Ghana must go bag by the suspect.

Odunlami further disclosed that the Ghana must go bag containing the victim's body was discovered in an uncompleted building close to the house and the landlord's residence. The statement detailed the events leading to the arrest, stating that on the 8th of December, 2023, at Ore division in Odigbo local government area of Ondo State, the body of Onyimi Grace was found concealed in the bag. The landlord's son, Fatai Bakare, aged 28, was strongly suspected due to the presence of blood stains on his leg.

The police promptly visited the scene, but the suspect had already fled. However, he was apprehended the following day while en route to Irele. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect is an ex-convict and an internet fraudster. Additionally, the blood-soaked clothes found in the house were identified as the clothes he wore on the day of the incident.

The police spokesperson concluded by stating that the case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.
