PASTOR ENOCH ADEBOYE'S REFLECTION ON A PEACEFUL DEPARTURE

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, recently shared his thoughts on the manner in which he would like to pass away.

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, recently shared his thoughts on how he would like to pass away. Speaking at the annual Holy Ghost Congress of the church in Ogun State, he recounted a story about one of his uncles and expressed his desire for a similar departure.

He emphasized that being sick is not a prerequisite for entering heaven, stating, "You don’t need to be sick to go to heaven." Pastor Adeboye then narrated the story of his uncle's sudden passing, explaining that his uncle had woken up feeling well, attended church, and even danced before returning home. Later, while his wife was preparing pounded yam, his uncle went to the toilet. Tragically, when his wife went to check on him, she found that he had passed away without any prior signs of illness or discomfort.

In light of this, Pastor Adeboye expressed his wish to depart in a similar manner, saying, "If the Lord tarries His coming, I will go on a Sunday after a good meal of pounded yam." This revelation offers a glimpse into the pastor's perspective on the ideal way to transition from this life to the next.
