Ten directors at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) have officially retired from service, having reached the mandatory age of 60 or completed 35 years of service. At a send-off event in Abuja, INEC National Commissioner, Prof. Mohammed Adams, congratulated the retiring directors and encouraged them to view retirement as the beginning of a new journey. He advised them to engage in meaningful activities that would generate income and create a niche for themselves in their respective fields.

INEC Secretary, Mrs. Rose Oriaran-Anthony, praised the retired directors for their hard work and dedication to service. She extended her congratulations and best wishes for their future endeavors. Dr. Binta Kasim, the INEC Director of Training, encouraged the retirees to pursue activities they enjoy during retirement, citing examples of individuals who achieved significant accomplishments after retiring.

Speaking on behalf of the retirees, Mrs. Blessing Obidiegwu expressed gratitude to INEC for the opportunity to serve and highlighted the importance of sustaining the commission's gender policy. Another retiree, Mr. Chima Duruaku, commended INEC for the chance to contribute to its development and the electoral process. He emphasized the need for INEC to preserve institutional knowledge and build upon existing structures to achieve more. The retirees represented various departments, including Gender and Inclusivity, Finance and Accounts, Administration, Election and Party Monitoring, Planning and Monitoring, Estate, Works and Transport, Voter Education and Publicity, Security, and Legal Services and Drafting.
