The Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) building in Kaduna was saved from a potentially devastating fire by the swift action of firefighters. The fire, which originated in the procurement building of FRCN Kaduna, was noticed on a Sunday afternoon, with smoke billowing from the site. While the cause of the fire was not immediately known, it was reported that the fire was first noticed by Muslim staff as they were leaving the mosque after the afternoon prayer.

According to a source, the fire was spotted by a few workers who were on duty due to it being a Sunday. The firefighters were promptly called in to prevent the fire from spreading to other buildings, ultimately saving the radio station from significant damage. Despite the initial chaos, normalcy was restored at FRCN Kaduna, with staff seen resuming their duties later that Sunday afternoon.

In response to the incident, Mallam Buhari Auwalu, the Zonal Director of FRCN Kaduna, clarified that the procurement building of Radio Nigeria Kaduna had not been gutted by fire, contrary to reports by some online media. He expressed gratitude to the fire service for their rapid response in extinguishing the fire and stated that an investigation would be conducted to determine the cause of the fire. Additionally, he emphasized that measures would be implemented to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
