A socio-political group in Ondo state, operating under the banner of the Redemption Initiative (OSRI), has made allegations against certain prominent politicians in the state. They claim that these politicians are actively working to undermine the peaceful resolution brokered by President Bola Tinubu between Governor Rotimi Akeredolu and his deputy, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

The group, in a statement jointly signed by its Chairman, Pastor Adebayo Ogunsanmi, Jide Oriola, and Publicity Secretary, Sunday Ayeni, expressed concern over the resistance shown by some supporters of the deputy governor towards the peaceful solution proposed by the president. They alleged that these supporters have engaged the services of prominent lawyers to advocate for the enforcement of the doctrine of necessity, aiming to declare Akeredolu incapacitated and his deputy as the Acting Governor.

Furthermore, the group claimed to be aware of the deputy governor being asked to sign an undated letter of resignation during the Abuja resolution in the presence of the president. They expressed surprise at the deputy governor's contradictory actions, citing his attendance and chairing of the state Executive Council meeting and the different story he allegedly told the cabinet.

The group emphasized the need for peace in Ondo State and urged the deputy governor to honor the terms of the peace agreement brokered by the presidency. They also accused some of his supporters of attempting to polarize the state House of Assembly for political gain. Additionally, they addressed the allegations of gross misconduct leveled against the deputy governor by the state House of Assembly, suggesting that investigations should have been conducted to verify the truth of these allegations.
