MINISTER OF TOURISM ANNOUNCES STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND POVERTY ERADICATION IN NIGERIA

Minister of Tourism Lola Ade-John recently announced a significant partnership with the private sector during the unveiling of the 'Prosperity Assured Economic Initiative' in Abuja.

During the unveiling of the 'Prosperity Assured Economic Initiative' in Abuja, Minister of Tourism Lola Ade-John announced a strategic partnership with the private sector aimed at fostering skills acquisition, poverty eradication, and economic development through tourism. The event underscored the commitment of stakeholders to sustainable economic development and poverty eradication.

 

Ade-John emphasized the priority of fostering an enabling environment for key developments and poverty eradication through inclusive policies and strategic partnerships. She also highlighted the goal of creating expertise and background for the next generation of players in the tourism industry, emphasizing a shared commitment to fostering a vision where every individual has the opportunity to thrive and contribute meaningfully to society.

 

The Minister expressed gratitude for the collaborative effort with the Global Youth Skill Acquisition and Poverty Eradication Organization (GYSAPEO), particularly for their 'Grow Naija Feed the World' project. This comprehensive strategy is designed to uplift and empower grassroots farmers, enhancing their knowledge and overall livelihood activities, with the aim of unlocking the full potential of Nigeria and its tourism sector.

 

Ambassador Emmanuel Ozegbe, the founder of GYSAPEO, emphasized the impact of the project and called for more involvement from public and private sector players to support the initiative. He highlighted the significant economic benefits of the initiative, citing statistics that indicate new market opportunities for project beneficiaries and a noteworthy increase in their financial standing.

 

The organization's spokesperson, Amarachukwu Atuzie, revealed the expectations for the Prosperity Assured Economic Initiative, which aims to train 25,000 farmers in Nigeria and develop the tourism potential of farming communities across the nation.
