Last Saturday night in Owerri, unknown gunmen kidnapped and murdered Eze Joe-Benz Ochulor, Olu 1 of Otulu Amumara, in Ezinihitte Mbaise Council Area of Imo state. The State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Henry Okoye, confirmed the incident, stating, "The information is true."

An eyewitness revealed that the monarch was kidnapped on Saturday night and his body was later found far from the community, causing shock and pain among the residents. The eyewitness stated, "He was kidnapped by 8 pm Saturday night. His body was found at the roadside."

Following the tragic event, the new Imo state commissioner of police, Aboki Danjuma, reportedly deployed a special squad to apprehend the killers. An intelligence officer mentioned that the commissioner of police had set up a high-powered investigative team to bring the assailants to justice. Additionally, a special tactical team was deployed to pursue and apprehend the perpetrators.

In a separate incident, the Imo state Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) suffered another loss as the party's ward chairman for Ife/Akpodim/Chokoneze Ward, Ezinihitte Mbaise council area, Smith Chiedoziem Anyanwu, was murdered last Thursday.
