The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has achieved a sweeping victory in the recently concluded local government council election in Taraba State, securing all available seats. The Taraba State Independent Electoral Commission, TSIEC, made the announcement, declaring the ruling party as the winner of all 16 local government chairmanship seats and the 168 ward councilorship positions.

Dr. Philip Duwe, the State Chairman of TSIEC, revealed that only six of the 19 registered political parties participated in the election. He announced the results in Jalingo, the state capital, emphasizing the legal validity of the results announced at the local government collation centres. Dr. Duwe expressed gratitude to the media for their objective coverage throughout the election process, acknowledging their commitment and resilience despite challenging circumstances. He commended the media for their excellent service to the nation and encouraged them to take pride in their contributions.
