The Nigeria Union of Teachers has expressed their appreciation to the Governor of Benue State, Rev. Father Hyacinth Alia, for his dedication to the welfare of teachers in the state. In a letter signed by Comrade Audu Amba, the National President, and Dr. Mike Ene, the National Secretary, the NUT's national leadership commended the governor for the steps taken to improve the welfare of teachers in Benue State. They noted that the teachers in the state have not experienced such favorable conditions under previous administrations and pledged increased dedication to their duties in response to the governor's efforts.

The NUT's national body also informed the governor of their intention to pay him an appreciation visit in January 2024. Meanwhile, Comrade Akuma Levi, the Chairman of NUT, Benue State Wing, praised the governor's initiatives to ensure the welfare of teachers, emphasizing the governor's empathy and determination to alleviate the plight of workers and promote productivity in the state. Levi highlighted the governor's focus on equitable growth and inclusivity, commending his decision to prioritize teacher welfare.

Levi further emphasized the governor's commitment to the welfare of civil servants and teachers in Benue State, stating that the teachers are in support of the governor's efforts and expressing their loyalty to him as the performing governor of the state.
