Hope Uzodimma Declared Winner of Governorship Election in Owerri

Hope Uzodimma, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has been officially declared the winner of the recent governorship election in Owerri. INEC made the announcement, with Uzodimma securing a total of 540,308 votes.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially declared Hope Uzodimma, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as the winner of the recent governorship election. The announcement was made by Abayomi Fasina, the INEC's state collation and returning officer. Uzodimma secured a total of 540,308 votes, solidifying his victory in the election.

In second place was Senator Samuel Anyanwu, the governorship candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), who garnered a total of 71,503 votes. Despite a strong campaign, Anyanwu fell short of securing the majority of votes needed to claim victory.

Taking the third position was Senator Athan Achonu, representing the Labour Party (LP), with a total of 64,081 votes. Although Achonu's campaign received significant support, it was not enough to surpass the votes received by Uzodimma and Anyanwu.

These results reflect the outcome of a closely contested election, with Uzodimma emerging as the elected governor. The official declaration by INEC marks the conclusion of the electoral process, and Uzodimma will now assume the responsibilities of leading the state.
