The Nigerian Union of Pensioners (NUP) has expressed its appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for reappointing Dr. Chioma Ejikeme as the Executive Secretary of the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD). The NUP commended Ejikeme for her innovative ideas, such as the 'I Am Alive' initiative, which have positively transformed pension administration and management. They also praised her empathetic approach towards pensioners and her commitment to resolving pension arrears and entitlements owed to various pensioners' groups. The NUP distanced itself from rumors of protests against her reappointment, suggesting that such protests may have been instigated by enemies of Nigerian pensioners.

Mazi Godwin Abumisi, the National President of the NUP, issued a statement affirming that Ejikeme's reappointment was well-deserved. He commended President Tinubu for recognizing her diligent work in ensuring the prompt payment of pensions and addressing other challenges faced by pensioners. Abumisi called on all NUP members to support Ejikeme in continuing her efforts to restore the dignity of Nigerian pensioners.

In response to the rumors of protests, Franklin Enrile, the General Secretary of the Federal Parastatals and Private Sector Pensioners Association of Nigeria (FEPPPAN), expressed disappointment and bitterness towards any pensioner who would oppose Ejikeme's reappointment. He emphasized the significant improvements Ejikeme has made in pension management, making the lives of pensioners easier. Enrile stated that no member of FEPPPAN is against her reappointment and advised those being influenced by selfish interests to reconsider their actions and not work against the benefits provided by PTAD under Ejikeme's leadership.

Enrile further praised President Tinubu for reappointing Ejikeme, highlighting her track record and the positive impact she has had at PTAD. He urged the President to disregard the noise generated by the protests and continue to support Ejikeme's work.
