TEIN JACK-RICH CALLS FOR CALM AND UNITY IN THE AFTERMATH OF RIVERS STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY ATTACK

Tein Jack-Rich, a former presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, has called for calm in the aftermath of the attack on the Rivers State House of Assembly.

Former presidential aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, Tein Jack-Rich, has called for calm following the attack on the Rivers State House of Assembly. In a statement released in Abuja, Jack-Rich urged political leaders in the state to put aside their differences and prevent the crisis from escalating further.

The attack on the assembly complex occurred on Sunday when suspected political thugs set it ablaze. This incident came after the lawmakers threatened to initiate impeachment proceedings against the Leader of the House, Edison Ehie, and Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

Expressing his concern, Jack-Rich emphasized the importance of preserving the sanctity of democracy and called on all political actors to uphold their oath to protect the democratic process. He stated that attacking the legislature or attempting to hijack it is not a measure of security but rather a display of political weakness.

Jack-Rich highlighted the global significance of protecting the legislature, as any attack on it poses a threat to democracy. He emphasized the need to prioritize peace and not sacrifice the democratic journey for the fear of dictatorship or authoritarianism.

In conclusion, Jack-Rich appealed for peace and urged Rivers State to align with President Bola Tinubu's administration at the federal level to leverage its economic master plan. He emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration in order to achieve progress and development in the state.
