PRESIDENT TINUBU APPROVES APPOINTMENT OF FEDERAL CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION (FCSC) CHAIRMAN AND MEMBERS

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Chairman and members of the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) in Nigeria. The appointments will go through Senate for confirmation.

President Bola Tinubu has given his approval for the appointment of the Chairman and members of the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC), pending confirmation by the Nigerian Senate. The appointment aligns with Section 154 of the Nigerian Constitution (1999, Amended), which grants the president the authority to appoint the Chairman and members of the FCSC.

 

According to a statement from Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Prof. Tunji Olaopa has been appointed as the Chairman of the FCSC. Other members include Dr. Daudu Ibrahim Jalo representing Adamawa/Gombe/Taraba, Ms. Gekpe Grace Isu representing Akwa Ibom/Cross River, Dr. Chamberlain Nwele representing Anambra/Ebonyi/Enugu, and Mr. Rufus Godwins representing Rivers/Delta/Bayelsa.

 

The remaining members are Dr. Adamu Hussein representing Niger/FCT, Mr. Aminu Nabegu representing Jigawa/Kano, Ms. Hindatu Abdullahi representing Kaduna/Katsina, Mr. Shehu Aliyu representing Kebbi/Sokoto/Zamfara, Ms. Odekunle Rukiyat Aduke representing Kogi/Kwara, Mr. Jide Jimoh representing Lagos/Ogun, and Dr. Festus Oyebade representing Osun/Oyo.

 

The statement further states that once confirmed, the new FCSC leadership will assume their roles on November 30, 2023, following the expiration of the current Chairman and members' tenure on November 29, 2023.

 

The President expects the new FCSC leadership to effectively facilitate the transformation, reorientation, and digitization of the Federal Bureaucracy. Their goal is to promote growth and encourage increased private sector participation in the development of the Nigerian economy, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the administration.
