A New Mother Appeals for Help Amid Health Crisis and Alleged Financial Mismanagement

Susan Ubangha, a new mother, has turned to social media for assistance after experiencing deteriorating health following childbirth at Alimosho General Hospital in Lagos State.

Susan Ubangha, a new mother, has reached out for assistance regarding her declining health after giving birth at Alimosho General Hospital in the Igando area of Lagos State. She alleges that her husband misused the funds intended for her medical expenses by purchasing a phone and a dog.

In a detailed post on social media, Ubangha recounted her health struggles beginning in the weeks leading up to her delivery, experiencing severe shortness of breath. Despite being rushed to the hospital, her husband reportedly failed to settle her medical bills.

According to Ubangha, her husband resisted the doctors' recommendation for a cesarean section due to financial constraints, insisting on a natural delivery. Consequently, she was discharged against medical advice, only to experience worsening symptoms upon returning home.

Ubangha's health deteriorated further, leading to another hospital admission. Despite her dire condition, her husband allegedly refused to fund a cesarean section. Stranded and with limited resources, Ubangha turned to social media for help, eventually receiving financial assistance from a compassionate individual to cover the surgery costs.

However, Ubangha claims that her husband squandered the funds on personal purchases instead of paying for the surgery. Left abandoned at the hospital with her newborn and elderly mother, she appeals to the public for support to cover her medical expenses and facilitate her discharge.

Her plea is accompanied by a photo showing her swollen leg, indicative of her medical condition. Ubangha discloses undergoing various tests and awaits further medical reports, emphasizing the urgent need for financial assistance.

Efforts to reach the hospital for clarification were unsuccessful, as contact numbers provided on their website were unresponsive, and email inquiries remained unanswered. Ubangha's ordeal highlights the challenges faced by vulnerable individuals in accessing timely healthcare and underscores the importance of community support during times of crisis.
