Arrest of Abuja-Kaduna Highway Attack Mastermind: Police Seize Arms Cache

The Nigeria Police announced the arrest of Ibrahim Abdullahi, known as Mandi, the alleged mastermind behind the deadly attack on the Abuja-Kaduna highway in March 2022.

in Kaduna, in conjunction with the IGP Intelligence Response Team (IRT), arrested one notorious bandit, Ibrahim Abdullahi, popularly known as Mandi, who has been on the wanted list of the security agencies for his involvement in various criminal activities, including the deadly attack on the Abuja-Kaduna highway in March 2022.

 

Ibrahim Abdullahi, alias Mandi, is also implicated in the abduction of students from Greenfield University in 2021, adding another layer to his criminal profile.

 

During his arrest, law enforcement officers seized a cache of 48 AK-47 rifles, indicating Mandi's significant role in the arms trade and his influence within the criminal underworld.

 

The Nigeria Police, represented by Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, affirmed their commitment to unraveling Mandi's network by identifying his sponsors and suppliers of weapons. This arrest marks a significant breakthrough in the ongoing efforts to combat banditry and kidnapping in Nigeria, demonstrating the authorities' determination to hold perpetrators of such heinous crimes accountable for their actions.
