OPERATION SAFE HAVEN COMBATING BANDITRY AND CRIMINAL ACTIVITIES IN PLATEAU, SOUTHERN KADUNA, AND BAUCHI STATES

Operation Safe Haven, a military operation in Nigeria, has achieved significant success in its operations against bandits and criminals in Plateau, Southern Kaduna, and Bauchi states.

Troops of Operation Safe Haven have reported significant achievements in their operations against bandits and criminals in Plateau, Southern Kaduna, and Bauchi states. In a statement released by the Nigerian Army via its official Twitter account, the troops highlighted their accomplishments from October 9 to 16.

 

During this period, the troops successfully neutralized bandits and recovered a substantial amount of arms and ammunition. They also foiled attacks, rescued kidnapped individuals, and apprehended suspects involved in various criminal activities. Notable among the achievements was the neutralization of a suspected bandit named Saidu, also known as Director, who was found in possession of weapons and other items.

 

In addition to combating banditry, the troops engaged in operations against armed robbers, resulting in the arrest of numerous suspects and the conviction of several criminals. They also arrested notorious kidnappers, including one linked to the recent kidnapping of a Union Bank Accountant. The troops further apprehended individuals on the wanted list of Operation SAFE HAVEN, including suspected kidnappers and a suspected gunrunner.

 

The troops demonstrated their commitment to protecting communities by preventing attacks on vulnerable areas and promptly responding to distress calls. They successfully deterred seven attacks and swiftly intervened in 15 distress situations. The local communities' cooperation and timely sharing of information were acknowledged as crucial to the success of the operation.

 

Major General AE Abubakar, the Commander of Operation Safe Haven, expressed appreciation for the support and collaboration of the local communities. He reiterated the operation's dedication to tackling security threats and bringing criminals to justice. The troops will continue their efforts to maintain peace and security in the region, targeting criminal elements and conducting thorough investigations to ensure a safer environment for all.
