The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed its satisfaction with the performance of Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, over the past three and a half years. The party believes that based on his achievements, they will emerge victorious in the upcoming governorship election on November 11. Chief Dan Orbih, the PDP's National Vice Chairman (South South), made these remarks during a solidarity visit to the governor.

Orbih commended Governor Diri for his ability to inaugurate projects while simultaneously campaigning for re-election. He stated that the PDP's national and zonal leadership were not only proud of Diri's accomplishments but also confident in him as the party's flag-bearer in the upcoming election. Orbih further praised the governor's campaign strategy, which involved commissioning projects and initiating new ones.

The PDP's zonal leader emphasized that Diri's impressive performance in office, coupled with the party's stronghold in the South-South region, guaranteed victory for the governor. In response, Governor Diri expressed his gratitude for the visit and stated that the PDP was confident of winning the election. He highlighted the stark contrast between his developmental achievements and those of his opponent, Chief Timipre Sylva, who had also served as the state's governor for five years. Diri pointed out that his opponent had nothing substantial to campaign with, even in his own hometown.

Diri remained optimistic about the election outcome, even if the constitutional issue of tenure was not a factor. He emphasized the commitment of the people and their clear support for the PDP. The governor mentioned that during a visit to his opponent's hometown, he had inaugurated a road, highlighting the disparity in achievements between the two candidates. Diri concluded by expressing his belief that the PDP would emerge victorious, regardless of any challenges they may face.

Governor Diri expressed his appreciation to the zonal working committee for their visit and urged them to unite in order to form a strong front for the upcoming election.
