Premier League Weekend Roundup: Two-Horse Race, Villa's Surge, and Burnley's Survival Bid

Aston Villa finds themselves in contention for the fourth Champions League spot, a position they haven't held since 1983.

The Premier League race has narrowed down to a battle between Manchester City and Arsenal, with Liverpool's hopes dwindling further. Manchester City took control of their destiny with a 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest, while Arsenal maintained their position with a 3-2 win against Tottenham, despite playing an additional game.

Aston Villa finds themselves in contention for the fourth Champions League spot, a position they haven't held since 1983. Despite squandering a 2-0 lead in a 2-2 draw with Chelsea, manager Unai Emery remains focused on Villa's consistency, especially after Tottenham's loss to Arsenal, leaving Villa seven points ahead of Spurs with three games remaining.

Meanwhile, Burnley, under Vincent Kompany's management, has revived their survival hopes after being written off weeks ago. With just one defeat in their last eight matches, Burnley earned a valuable point against Manchester United with a late penalty. While still second from bottom, they are only two points behind Nottingham Forest, pending Forest's appeal against a four-point deduction for financial rule breaches. The outcome of this appeal could significantly impact Burnley's fate in the relegation battle.
