Fifty of the one hundred and eighteen inmates who escaped from the Suleja Correctional Centre in Niger state have been recaptured. The mass escape occurred on Wednesday night when the perimeter fence of the facility collapsed.

The successful recapture of the inmates was achieved through collaborative efforts between security operatives and members of the community. However, the specific location where the apprehended prisoners were detained has not been disclosed.
