In a solemn turn of events, the House of Representatives has adjourned its plenary session in honor of the late Hon. Abdulkadir Jelani Danbuga, a respected representative from the Isa/Sabon Birni Federal Constituency of Sokoto State.

The House of Representatives has adjourned its plenary session until Thursday, October 12, as a mark of respect for their colleague who passed away on Wednesday morning. The late representative, Hon. Abdulkadir Jelani Danbuga, represented the Isa/Sabon Birni Federal Constituency of Sokoto State.

During the plenary session on Wednesday, Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu presided over the proceedings and announced that the day's agenda would be postponed until Thursday. This decision was made to allow members of the House to mourn their departed colleague, in accordance with parliamentary tradition.

Deputy Speaker Kalu expressed the House's condolences, stating, "The House of Representatives regrets to announce the death of Hon. Abdulkadir Jelani Danbuga, the member representing Isa/Sabon Birni Federal Constituency of Sokoto State in the Green Chamber." He further extended sympathies to the late representative's family, constituents, and the people of Sokoto State, praying for comfort and peaceful repose of his soul.

Late Danbuga, aged 63, passed away early Wednesday after a brief illness. He was laid to rest in Sokoto State, following Islamic rites. In April 2023, he was elected to the Green Chamber as a member of the All Progressives Congress, emerging victorious in the supplementary polls.
