DIPHTHERIA OUTBREAK CLAIMS LIVES OF 20 CHILDREN IN KADUNA State, NIGERIA

In a concerning development, Dr. Faisal Shuaibu, the Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA), has announced a diphtheria outbreak in Kaduna State, Nigeria.

Dr. Faisal Shuaibu, the Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA), has reported a diphtheria outbreak in Kaduna State, resulting in the deaths of 20 children. Dr. Shuaibu, who also serves as the Co-Chairman of the Presidential Task Force Team on Diphtheria, revealed that a total of 156 cases of the highly contagious infection have been recorded in the state thus far. He shared this information with journalists after visiting the Kaduna Diphtheria Treatment Centre at Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital in the state capital on Wednesday.
