Replacing a marine light? Don't check wattage alone.
A replacement fixture may look ****entical to the original—but that doesn't mean it is electrically compatible.
Before ****ing a replacement marine light, check:
⚡ Rated Voltage — 12V, 24V, 110V, 220V or another vessel-specific supply?
🔌 AC or DC — A 24V DC fixture cannot simply replace an AC100–240V fixture.
〰️ Frequency — For AC systems, **** 50Hz, 60Hz or the ****licable input range.
💡 Driver & Power — Check input current, driver configuration, power factor and total circuit load—not just wattage.
🌊 IP & Environment — Engine rooms, open decks and cargo areas can have very different protection requirements.
🔧 Wiring & Mounting — Cable entry, connector type, mounting holes and available ****ation space can affect whether the replacement is actually plug-and-play.
📋 Certification — Commercial vessels may also require ****licable class or marine ****rovals.
A successful marine lighting replacement is not simply a product substitution. It is an electrical, mechanical and environmental compatibility check.
